If you barely even touch it the case starts coming apart on the sides and besides that there are a lot of sharp edges that stick out and make it even easier to pull the case apart also the zebra design was already starting to come off of the case before I removed it from the bag that it came in. I RATE THIS PRODUCT -5 STARS (YES THAT IS MINUS FIVE STARS)!!!! Unfortunately the Amazon Rating system will not allow anything below 1. It will not work on an Epson Stylus Photo R200! Not sure if this thing works on other systems, I'm guessing it does not!!!! A pile of old news papers and 2 dead flies have more value than this junk. Save your money and don't buy it. I would contact the seller, but they seem to make it hard to do since I can't find their contact information any where. This system will not reset, even though it says "Auto-Reseting" chips built right in. I can't even get some other external program (nothing was included to assist with this part of the failed cause) to help me reset these things. Nothing seems to work. I'm guessing this is left over garbage that could not pass quality inspection to function properly, so they sell it in hopes that no one will complain. The projector was a breeze to set up. The sound is good, but do not expect surround sound quality. I would definitely recommend this particular model. This is my first projector, but the ability to have a dvd with sound already in the machine made my decision easier. I was not looking forward to hooking up a dvd player and stereo with speakers to the projector. We used it at our farm and projected onto a vinyl covering. The kids enjoyed watching the movie outside and the sound in the "open air" was good. The projection was great in different setups. The Epson name also influenced my decision.

Suffice it to say this is one of those rare purchases that you can allow yourself to get excited about making, and then find out that you underestimated how excited you should have gotten. It has exceeded every expectation I may have had - it does everything it's supposed to do, and does it astonishingly well. Truly exceptional picture quality in terms of both color and clarity, ridiculously simple to set up and operate, and extraordinarily user friendly. I'm using it with (most of the time) a 100" Elite Screen, and my little theatre room has quickly become my favorite room in the house. I also bought a 120" portable screen (an Elite ELF120NWH ezCinema) to use outdoors, which I've already done more than a few times. How cool is it to be able to (in 3 minutes) set up a very respectable outdoor theatre? Sittin' outside on a beautiful evening watching movies - trust me, it's a great time. Be sure to buy the Epson subwoofer (Epson EPMM30SWS SUB-4A1 Silver MovieMate Subwoofer 40W) - I would describe the sound quality as merely acceptable without it, and considering how remarkable the picture quality is, that's just silly. Power up the sub, plug in one wire, the sound quality instantly equals that of the picture - you end up with a true movie experience that needs no apologies for either the audio or video. We are happy with our Epson MovieMate. A nice feature is the ability to center the picture on the screen both horizontally and vertically by easy controls on the projector. The built in speakers are adequate, also.

I've been wanting this thing since it came out, Now that the price has dropped I jumped On IT! This thing is great! I have it hooked up to my Toshiba HD DVD, My scientific Atlantic 8300HD cable box and my Samsung Blu Ray player!(HDMI Switch is a must) MY pretty Black Eppy comes w/all the standard inputs you need to run it as a stationary Hometheater Projector or as a portable Projector DVD player. I'll be honest when I run a standard def movie via Blu Ray or HD DVD player it looks the same, But movies In High DEF, I just sat there and said "WOOOOOOOOOOOOW" this thing has Deep rich color! The DVD player in the Moviemate 72 is good even my burned movies look good on it. Some may want to ceiling mount it but this does not support that type of installation, so what I did was installed a Standard TV wall mount but u can use a standard tv ceiling mount and put it up there! I can insert my disc face to face now unlike the Moviemate 25 which loads from the back, this is a first generation moviemate I purchased 3-4 yrs ago it does not turn, the Moviemate 72 turns on it's chassis for better loading. Now this is native 720p resolution and up scales to 1080p. If u put a 4:3 movie in you can stretch it out and up to fit the screen 16:9 or make it smaller it has other good little tricks to it, oh' the speakers sound fills the room u can hook this up to a subwoofer I used my old Moviemate 25's I kind use this when I'm not trying to rock my building w/my sound system U can hook this up to a system also through standard RCA cables or digital optical cable but i have mine hooked through the optical cable to my system as well as having my eternal HD devices to the sound system. Bottom line for this product... GO FOR IT!!!!

I bought this 3 weeks ago and happy with the purchase. The picture quality is excellent and I am sure no one will regret buying this product. I have hooked a standard TV cable and it looks decent. I mainly watch it for movies. The size of the picture depends on the distance from the screen. I have a large living room , when I fix the projector in the opposite wall, the picture size is bigger than I want. The Zoom adjustment can make it big or small only to a certain extent. If you want to make it bigger or smaller than the the zoom adjustment we need to use other adjustment which will make zoom from 0.25 to 4X of the normal size. The picture quality is compromised when you use this but we get the right size we want. The quality of the picture depends on the quality of the input. The picture quality is excellent when using a standard original DVD from Blockbuster. I have not tried any HD/Blueray disc yet. If you download videos from Youtube (in USB), then play it , you will get only average quality video. Overall if you can afford the price it is worth it. Look around for a good price.

I initially bought this Epson Moviemate as a special present for myself, to watch sports and movies on the big screen. For my purposes the projector/cd rom player hit the bill. I was careful on the hours watched and programming. I would give a four star rating. Now for the bad news, the Hurricane Ike of September 2008 took the Moviemate in a wall of water from the Gulf of Mexico.

I recently bought one of these, and I'm very happy with it. It's reasonably-priced and puts out a good quality, 3LCD picture. We just use our living room wall, which is slightly textured and beige, so don't think an added, costly, special screen or viewing room is absolutely necessary. The DVD player and speakers are an added bonus. You could conceivably use it anywhere to play DVD movies, in its factory-equipped state, without the need for a stereo receiver, an external DVD player, speakers, and all those wires. Anything you want to add just improves it. I upgraded from an older Toshiba DLP projector. I haven't measured, but at the distance from the wall I have it, I get about an 8-10 foot diagonal picture in my modest living room. The lens adjustment is manual, but its controls easily adjust picture placement on the wall relative to the projector. The projector no longer has to be in the center of the room, just pointing straight at the wall. The projector unit rotates independently from the DVD base unit. The projector has all the connections I need - HDMI, component, d-sub, and audio input. The speakers are decent in a living room setting, even when the projector is above and behind the couch. I love the versatility: if I want to use my own speakers I can. Any image-producing component I want to plug in can be plugged and played. The lens cover slides in and out of place. I even hooked up my PC output and played WoW. I don't believe I've seen 720p on it yet, but that's an input limitation--the cable box only puts out 1080i or 480p. There's also a USB port, reportedly for playing movies from an i-"whatever", which I haven't used yet (no i-whatever). With the size and unlimited viewing angle, it's a much better financial solution than a plasma or LCD TV, even with bulb replacement every 3000 hours or so (of actual use). The Epson site promises free overnite shipping on the bulbs, which can be replaced by you, so you don't have to wait two to four weeks+ for the service place to do it. I also like the replaceable air filter which should greatly extend the life of the product (compared to the Toshiba TDP-T9U which did not have an air filter and was not user-friendly for cleaning and bulb replacement).

If I have problems later on I will update this review. Awesome, arrived in 3 days? Everything was clean, sealed in like new condition. I loaded them right away and all colors printed with no problems. Like another reviewer said - don't hesitate. It looks like the cartridge is a brand new generic that uses a plastic bracket to attach a used original "chip". I was very impressed with how the cartridges looked like brand new - unlike other refills I had used where the ink tank clearly looked used. When I printed my business cards on glossy paper I did notice some horizontal bands so I swithed to photo mode max quality and that got rid of the bands. $$$ - For $21.28 with tax and shipping this is a steal!!!! I considered throwing out my Epson CX4800 due to the cost of replacing all the colors: $60+. Now I have two complete sets (3 color + 1 black) + 2 black cartridges. I installed them right away and the print is decent but not perfect (on regular paper, I don't print photos). I run generic / used ink but it never performs as well as the original brand name. Epson and other printers won a lawsuit that supposedly put an end to brand new generic ink cartridges because it was claimed that reverse engineering the chip on the cartridge violated copyright. the choice is Genuine Epson or Used / refill. I never print photos so the generic really saves me money. Epson's inkjet print system wastes ink each time the pritner starts; ink is used to clean or flush out the print heads (HP builds the print head into the cartridge which make them hard to refill and impossible to copy). The seller was upfront about the ink being past the expiration date at which it should be sold. For the price, it seemed worth trying ... after all, it's ink, not an antibiotic. The ink came packaged in its original heavy plastic shrink wrap and inside the original box. I've been using it, and it works just fine and the colors are just fine. This is my second set of ink I've purchased from this seller and if it's available, I'll order again.

The picture for this item shows four seperate retail boxes, one for each ink color. What I received was a single Epson retail package with all four ink cartridges. This in itself is not big deal, as it was original Epson retail packaging that I have bought before. However, upon opening the package I found only one of the four cartridges was enclosed in the cellophane pouch that Epson ships them in, the other three were not. Also strange was instead of the normal interior of the packaging, the four cartirdges were loose and a wadded up piece of newspaper was inserted to keep the cartridges from rattling around too much in the unopened package. After viewing the packaging I was concerned about what I actually received. I did choose to install the ink cartridges in my printer in spite of my initial misgivings, and I have not noticed anything unusual in their performance.

Epson continuously gets one-star reviews for a reason. They've built their business model on deception. These cartridges may print twenty five pages, they may print fifty. It's hard to tell. One thing is for sure though: you will not be able to use all the ink in these cartridges due to the way they are designed. As is widely known, these cartridges have a chip, which supposedly detects how full they are so that the software can notify you to buy new cartridges. So what's wrong with that, you wonder? Well here's the catch. In fact, there are two catches. First, when one cartridge runs out, even if it's only the yellow one, the printer will not print anything--even black and white--until the supposedly empty cartridge is replaced with a new one. I say "supposedly empty" because of the second catch: the cartridges detected as empty, in fact, still have ink in them! Sometimes plenty of ink. After buying a new set of cartridges when the old set was "supposedly empty", I did a side by side comparison. When I shook the blue, red, and yellow ink of my last set of "empty" cartridges (the black the only empty one), they felt and sounded as full as those of the new, full set! Yet they could not be used again because when I tried to reinstall them the printer continued to read them as "empty" even when used in conjunction with the new black cartridge. If this is not a business scheme built on deception (or incompetence), I don't know what is. Two years and seven or eight sets of ink cartridges later, I have finally resolved to join the thousands of former Epson customers who have chosen to boycott Epson products, and unless you like how it feels to be hornswaggled and bereft of good, hard-earned cash, I suggest you do the same.

I was a little skeptical because of some of the negative reviews but I went ahead with this purchase through Amazon. I have now received my order and installed two of the four colors (black & yellow). I have printed several pages to test the ink-- both black & white and color-- and I have had NO trouble whatsoever. My printer recognized the cartridges immediately and reports that the black and yellow ones (which were both empty) are now full. All of my pages are printed with superb quality. I am VERY pleased to have found this many cartridges for such a low price. If you have the same printer I have (EPSON Stylus CX4800) I highly recommend this product! One issue WAS a little confusing: On the box that the ink came in, in the directions, there was a sentence that read, "Remove the protective cap and do not shake the ink cartridge after its protective cap is removed." Well, I looked and looked and could not figure out where to find this protective cap. There was not one! I just shook the cartridges, took them out of their plastic wrappers, and then installed them, and they have worked beautifully. I think they must use the same boxes to package different types of ink cartridges. They really should specify which ones have what parts. But, once I figured it out I was happy... and now I know for next time. :)

When I first purchased this I was skeptical, but after I printed the first several hundred pages using this ink I never noticed much of a difference between this and the OEM ink. Then, after evaluating the cost savings of this versus the OEM ink I couldn't help but think, "Why didn't I discover this sooner?" Now, I wouldn't suggest printing photos for the family album using this ink, but it has served extremely well printing text and web documents and well over 1,000 pages. As of today, while writing this review, the product is unavailable and I'm sad that I didn't order more.
