I bought the 2GB Sony S615 Video MP3 player because of good reviews on Amazon. I am really happy with my new Walkman! I have dealt with a few other video MP3 players before I purchased this one. The screen on the Sony Walkman's 1.8" screen is clearer than the 4th-gen iPod, and Microsoft's Zune Video MP3 players. It has a high fidelity TFT screen that is so clear you can actually enjoy watching videos and viewing photos on it! Images are so clear that it feels bigger than it actually is. Colors are very vivid and almost jump out of the screen, even with the brightness set to "1" (Brightness levels: 1-5). Battery life is amazing! Even with my busy fingers exploring all my Walkman had to offer when I just got it, the battery level remained full even after several hours of listening to music and watching videos. (Battery life estimated: 33 hours) The bass this player can create is astounding! I used to have a Creative Labs Zen and even with a custom EQ., my Zen had no bass in comparison to this Walkman! You can create two independent, custom 5-band EQ. with Clear Bass. With Clear Bass levels at maximum, the bass is really unbelievable, even with ear buds. It's hard to believe you can have so much bass and such crisp audio with no effect on battery life; it is like adding a subwoofer to your headphones! For all the folks who grew up with a Walkman cassette player / radio: this Video MP3 player has a FM radio! The nostalgia associated with having a Walkman FM radio receiver in a Walkman MP3 player... When you get this mp3 player you are getting quality. Crisp picture for images video, unbelievably long battery life, and crazy durable. I got this mp3 player because my ipod stopped working. I'm now committed to Sony. They really outdone themselves with this. I've dropped it who know how many time(even while running) and nothing happened to it. This unit is small and easy to use. My kids can easily sort their songs and load their songs..I did have some trouble loading movies onto it...but I am not that technically savy. My friend did load a movie on it for me but said he had to go through a few steps to do it and was a little tricky. The sound is great and the battery seems to last long and recharging is easy since I just keep the plug by my laptop. Great for the money!

I bought this little player about a year and a half ago. I've dropped it and traveled with it, and it holds up well. I haven't had a single problem with it. The battery life is good and long - I can go an entire day or more listening to it hooked up to my universal mp3 dock. I have another mp3 player that I can't listen to while charging, but this one charges and you can still use it. As far as the software goes, it's very easy to understand and it syncs well with Media Player without having to load any extra software onto your computer.

We got one of these for each of our boys, because we like be fair like that. I wanted to get them these because if they got lost or broken, we would not be out a lot of $$. Also, since we had more traveling planned, we wanted them to be able to listen to something different than everyone else, if they wanted. there is no clip.. which would be a lot easier for working out. the sound quality is bad. it's nice that there is a radio and it automatically sets the presets, but still, the sound quality is bad and i even used sony walkman earphones. the ipod is Much better. the only good thing about this is that u can just plug it to the computer w/o using wires, it's small, has a radio, and it has a display for such a tiny mp3 player. however, i would not buy this again, i'm thinking about getting the ipod nano or shuffle because i just need to be able to clip it to my shirt or pants when i work out.

After owning the older model 2 gig walkman mp3 player from sony which used the Sonic Stage platform of compression and had amazing sound quality even at high compression, I was hopeful that the new walkman would be of similar quality. I was trying to copy few songs on this player and after copying 4-5 songs, the player went off suddenly and windows was unable to recognize this USB device. This MP3 player is a nice breakaway from the seemingly obsolete Sonicstage/ATRAC software which was getting the Minidisc Walkman line nowhere. Why it took so long for Sony to come out with Drag-and-Drap compatibility is hard to comprehend. The sound in this new device is superb. Though you can access only Windows Media Player among the major nonsubscription MP3 downloadable sources, the Drag-and-Drop is an improvement. The player is great, though I still prefer the Minidisc HI-MD recorder. The latter can reproduce MP3s and WAV files from more than just one source, thanks to the innovations of digital media companies other than SONY, which, unfortunately, seems to have scrapped any potential upcoming minidisc projects.

I purchased the NWZ-B105 from Sony directly right after it was released. I bought it because I've had good experiences with Sony audio products in the past, and because it allowed for drag-and-drop or WMP11 play of your MP3 or WMA files. It's also one of the few OLED display players that lets you browse by folder, supports playlists, has voice recording, and excellent sound quality. I don't need JPG or movie playing, just something to use while exercising. When I received it, I plugged it directly into my laptop, transfered about 1GB of music using WMP11 (the player is a 2GB model), and then listened for a while - sounded great, very close on par to Cowon/iAudio music players. Was very happy, until I decided to check out the Sony's other functions. First I tried voice recording, and got the message that the memory was full...well, no, it wasn't - I only transfered a GB...so I decided the reformat the player from the player's menu (the instructions warn you to NOT reformat the player using Windows) and apparently that pushed the player over the edge. It froze up - pressing the Power button after that only resulted in "Creating Database" and "Boot Error" messages flashing on the screen. I plugged it into my computer and it wouldn't even recognize it as a drive. Doing a pin Reset of the unit did absolutely nothing. So I called Sony tech support, who told me to send it in for repair. No way was I going to go for weeks without a player, so I said no, I'll just return it, and they told me to call the customer returns number. I asked if I needed a confirmation number or something of that sort to indicate that I've already run the unit past tech support, and the rep said, "No, just call the number." So I called the Returns number and after being on permahold, and the rep answered and asked me, "Do you have an Event number?" I said, "No, the tech support guy said I didn't need one." The Returns rep said, "You need an event number to get an RMA." Sigh. So I had to call tech support AGAIN, get an event number, then call Returns again, to finally get the RMA number. Plus I have to pay for return shipping, even though the unit is clearly defective. Definitely not the product quality or service experience I expected when buying from a higher-end company like Sony. I know the player was just newly released, but for it to malfunction like that is just a pain and I'm way hesitant to make another investment in Sony players again because of the hassle.

I had previously purchased a SanDisk MP3 player that I was totally unhappy with. I went to Best Buy and saw this and decided to buy it. I did not want an iPod, and I trusted the Sony brand name. And, yes, the pink color put it over the top for me! I am in no way a "teckie," but just a few minutes of browsing Media Player and I was uploading music and sync'ing to the device. What I really appreciate about the Sony Walkman is that it works as it should and as it was designed to do. There are many times when I purchase electronics only to find there are missed steps in the directions and I'm left with a gadget I can't operate right away unless I call customer service or contact some friends. Not so with the Walkman. I read the guide that came with the device, browsed Media Player a couple times, and now I feel like an old pro! I did find the ear buds a little uncomfortable at first, but I truly appreciated that Sony includes 3 different sizes of the part that actually inserts into the ear. I discovered the smallest insert was a much more comfortable fit. That was a nice touch - a lot of manufacturors would have made the consumer purchase those as extra. No fumbling around trying to find something! My only disappointment was that device could only be recharged via computer USB port. I do travel and would like to take this along, but I am not in the habit of lugging along a laptop. However, I have just discovered that Sony now manufactures an AC adaptor for this device! I will definitely be purchasing that today, and my little MP3 world will be complete for now.

Pink is so cool. I have it in pink and enjoy this MP3 player very much. I bought this device specifically for playing music, although you can store pictures and video. The sound is awesome and crisp. It works fine with Vista. Navigation is quite easy. This device is small but very convenient. I feel very good about my selection. There is one drawback. I exercise and wore my previous Samsung MP3 player around my neck with a slim leather neck chain. There is a tiny, tiny slot on the side of this player for that. It would be very awkward to use for that purpose. You would need an armband or a case that would accomodate a neck chain. The bass is unbelievable for such a small device. Ladies, I thought the pink would be horrible, but purchased it after seeing this device in a store. The pink is kick butt.

I have had my Sony Walkman for over a year at least and it has been and is an extraordinary device. It has ample storage for music. Thin and light weight. Great for exercise workouts and the beach! Syncs really well in Windows Media Player 10. I have enjoyed it so much that I am considering buying another one so that I can have one at home and at the office. I hate forgetting to bring it with me in the mornings since I connect it to the computer to recharge it each night. My recommendations: make sure to buy an extra USB cord or more. That way you can have one permanently attached at your home computer and office computer as well as a USB Charger for the car for sunny days on the go! Thanks SONY! In my opinion... you are the best, consistently, in durable, high-quality, portable consumer electronics. It always seems to cost a little bit more to invest in Sony products but so worth it in enjoyment of its long-term performance and lack of defects.

I bought this MP3 player more than a year and a half ago and I have been using it quite a bit ever since. It has exceeded all my expectations, and I am very happy with it. I even bought an extra two-year warranty thinking that any piece of portable electronics is likely to have some kind of problem within two years, and then I will be provided a new one after it breaks. Well, it looks like I'm going to be out that extra money, because it still works perfectly despite falling a few times from tables and chairs, etc. I have looked at videos and photos on this player, but the screen is a little small to really enjoy. The quality is pretty darn good for a 2-inch screen, but it's still a 2-inch screen. So I use it almost exclusively for audio -- mainly for listening while commuting, walking or jogging. It is perfect for that. The sync function works great with Windows Media Player 11. The battery life is good for at least eight hours of audio even after 1.5 years of steady use. The sound is really wonderful, although playback is so sensitive that the defects in low bitrate MP3s are more obvious than on other players I've used. The only big downside is the proprietary cable. Sony loves proprietary formats that no other companies use (they won't even put firewire on their computers -- they use a lame powerless version of it instead). So if you lose the cable, you have to go find a replacement and pay a premium. I wish Sony would just use a mini USB cable, but I'm not going to hold my breath. But I haven't lost or damaged my cable yet, so my experience has been entirely pleasant. I can highly recommend this player, and when I go to buy my next one, Sony will be high on the list of the products I consider.

As many reviewers have pointed out, this device has great sound, and perhaps that is most important in an mp3 player. Unfortunately, usability stinks. My biggest gripe is its lack of any ability to add a track to a device playlist. Ipods and many other mp3 players (like the sansas) have the ability to add tracks to an "on-the-go" playlist or similar feature. Why not this one? I often like to create playlists as I listen to music, and there is no way to do any playlist creation or editing on the device. Secondly, there is a major lack of information displayed when browsing for tracks. For example, when going through your playlists, you can see the various song titles, but short of actually starting to play the track, there is NO WAY to see the artist or the album. You can get "detailed info" on a track, which unhelpfully displays the sample rate and the file format, but no album name!? No artist name!? Get a grip, Sony.

Purchased this player, and it worked great for about 6 months. Would still be happy with it, but for the customer service at Sony. After 6 months the audio stop working, everything else still works. Called Sony, on the phone with them for over a hour, doing test, reformat serveral time. End result it needed to be sent to Sony for repair, for a small fee of $75.00,that's just the labor. Almost the price of the player. I'll take the $75.00 and invest it into a new Ipod Nano. So now I have a nice sony walkman to use for storing digital pictures.

When I first played a MP3 song, the first impression was WOW. This thing sounded great. The highs, mids, and lows were clear. When it comes to sound quality, this MP3 is one of the best. I have three IPODS and this player kills them in sound. If you are serious about sound quality, get this one. It does everything I want. Plays MP3's. I don't care about videos on the little screen. The pictures come out crystal clear but again, I just want an MP3 player that plays my music with great sound quality. And it also looks good. I'd like to mention that I am using this MP3 player with Denon headphones (AH-D1000). These two are a perfect combination for me. I listen to everything and I can't find a flaw. I can't stop listening to it.

Although It's easy to drag and drop music from your computer onto the Walkman you cannot put music videos or trailers or nothing on this device witch is the main reason I bought it I wanted to watch music videos while on my treadmill instead of just listening to music. I have tried everything even a decoder but the only video on this thing is the surfs up trailer that came with it. So if you want one for videos save your money.

This is my first personal MP3 player (although I've tinkered with a few belonging to my teens--namely the infamous ipods.) After researching the issue to death, I selected this model because it came with a quality pair of earbuds, got rave reviews for sound from the techies, and overall seemeded like a sound choice for the modest amount of money I wanted to spend--under $100. I've had it since fall, and haven't been disappointed, although I'm not a big fan of earbuds and have switched to Sony earphones. So easy to transfer music from my CD collection using Windows Media Player. I mainly use it in the car or with earphones in the house. The battery life fully meets my expectations--I charge it driving and have never run low. Picture clarity is good and I find the screen readable. Sure would be nice if it had a voice recorder. Also this unit doesn't allow you to delete songs at will. I didn't buy any of the fancy protective accessories-- just keep it in a cotten sleeve kept in a purse pocket (or not) and it isn't getting noticably beat up/scratched yet. I've even dropped it on the floor a few times and my toddler has sat on my purse more than once. So far, so good.

This is a great mp3 player for the money, easy to use long battery life, and very easy to transfer audio and video files to. Unfortunately A couple of days after I bought it, I noticed that its price at Amazon had decreased. After several attempts to get Amazon to do a price match I gave up. They said they have a new policy and will no longer price match. I felt kind of cheated. The player is great though!

UPDATE: I am a big fan of Sony products. While Amazon is not always the cheapest place to get something, they do offer the best customer service ever. I had my bf purchase this for me at the end of Jan last year, didn't use it for months and it worked fine and in Dec I started having problems with it charging. I thought it was my computer, then thought it was media player and then bought a new cord only to find out that many people had problems with it charging. Sony wants you to pay more to get it fixed and so I contacted amazon with an e-mail saying I could return it with chances of some of my money coming back. I called customer service and explained to them the situation and they offered to replace it since I've never returned anything in the 7+ years I've purchased from them. So to the buyers who look for a deal, you'll never get as good of customer service than from Amazon.
