A Fargo printer can be an investment, as there are many features that can be offered from different styles and models. The decision to buy one can be tricky, but knowing which features each model offers and matching them with the needs of the business or institution can result in a successful match. Fargo ID card printers come in all shapes and sizes, offering state of the art security clearance or a simple name tag. In many cases, a company or institution investing in a Fargo ID card printer want to consider thinking ahead to some options that can be anticipated with changes in the dynamics of the company. The best way to see what there is available is to see what each printer offers and what can be gained from buying one as opposed to another.
Fargo ID card printers are categorized by their capabilities of printing: Single sided printers, dual sided printers and complete card printer systems.
Single sided Fargo ID card printers will print on one side of the name badge, and they generally cost less than those that offer other print options. Single sided card printers can range from as low as 00 and upwards to 00, depending on the features that are offered. The Fargo printer (HDP 5000) offers the encoding for magnetic stripe, contact (and contactless) smart card, as well as Ethernet and USB capabilities. The Fargo printer can also be programmed to print a high volume of ID cards at once. It also has a 200 card input hopper with lock.
Dual sided Fargo ID card printers offer the capability of printing on both the front and back of the name badge. The lower range of these printers is around 00, while the higher end models cost about 00. The Fargo printer (DTC 550) offers all of the qualities of USB and Ethernet, as well as monochrome and full color printing on both sides of the card. The Fargo printer also offers three security features, which include a magnetic stripe, contact and contact-less smart card and HID proxy.
Complete Fargo ID card printer systems can be purchased with a single sided or dual sided printer. The complete system includes a camera, film, print ribbon, software, PVC cards, and a USB print cable (Fargo printer, model HDP 5000). With a single investment, all of the needs to produce photo id badges are covered, so that nothing else needs to be purchased. This is a great way of saving money over the alternative of purchasing all of the pieces separately. A complete system also guarantees compatibility of the items without worrying about any problems.
All Fargo ID card printers come with warranties that cover both the printerheads, as well as the printer. Most of the models are also upgradeable to include options such as lamination module, extended warranties, and hopper output capacity. The Fargo printer is always ready for the future, even if the business isn't ready. The affordable upgrades make it much easier than investing in a new model.
