It sounds like you've somehow gotten your computer set to automatically connect to one of these other networks. I'm not sure how to fix that, though. Either that, or you internet is fucked, just like mine.

awsome,
it tells you what you need and how to get it I also love this app because it tells you how strong the network is.
Was this review helpful to you?
|You may have AT&T as an ISP, but do you have a wireless modem?
Is the ATT network you see on the network list your modem?
Try turning off your modem, refresh the network list and see if the name goes away. There’s every chance that you are trying to connect to someone else’s modem thinking it is yours.
Assuming that the ATT network you see is yours, move it to the top of the list. That will cause your computer to try to connect to it first.
If you can connect, but cannot reach the Internet, check with AT&T. They may have secured the wireless with a password
edit – spelling
I’m not sure, but it sounds like you’re confusing two different kinds of “wireless.”
The traditional wireless is really wireless access to a nearby router connected by cable to a Cable or DSL modem.
The newer “wireless” relies on cell phone technology and is truly “wireless.” I suspect ATT wireless is such a technology.
Your laptop, on the other hand, seems to be connecting to nearby routers, which might well have the names “Netgear” or “Linksys” after their brand names.
Unless your laptop has the ability to get into the cell phone network, you’re not going to be able to use your ATT wireless.
Hope that helps.
Hi I had the same problem before I’ll help you out.
When your laptop connects to some network you can see a small icon
in the notification area (the internet icon) click on that that icon and if your laptop is connected to some other network right-click on that network and mark it as “x” or as “street”or put some wrong properties of it so the properties don’t match to the modem of that network and your laptop doesn’t connect to the other network(s).(change the properties for all) and now try connecting to your network put it as close to your laptop as possible and see that most of the electronic devices around you when you connect are switched off switch them back on when you have fully connected to your network after you have connected to your network right click it and go to properties and put the”home” network sign on it.
or you can do this-every time you connect to some other network disconnect from it and manually connect to your network.
Hope This Helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
toniosmith….I did just the opposite with my iphone3gs. I have Straight Talks T-Mobile’s sim card and my internet was terrible. I got the AT&T sim card and it works much better than? T-Mobiles. Not sure if you have been throttled down after a lot of internet usage.
I got att sim card its slow? on my phone ima try Tmobile sim before going to other prepaid service
Thanks big brother.? U cleared up a great deal and I hope u become greatly successful in the future!
Not sure how much data you use, because unfortunately straight talk doesn’t tell how much data you use on your account, but I personally tested the AT&T sim vs the Tmobile sim and the 4g was way faster for Tmobile network with a Tmobile phone, hands down. First I used a unlocked AT&T phone on T-mobile sim, slow, then used the At&t sim with the At&t phone, still slow, but? when I used a Tmobile phone with the Tmobile sim, I finally was able to see 4g speeds like 6mb and faster.
T-Mobile is way? faster than AT&T in Minneapolis.
I’m? getting that
Getting that?
Hi manuelsbored, I’m Sara from Straight Talk Wireless. We do not have the exact limitations for data usage regardless if you are using an AT&T or T-Mobile SIM. The data service will be suspended if it affects the carrier’s level of service. The unlimited data browsing that we offer can only be used on the device’s native applications and capabilities permit. Please review our Terms and Conditions under sections six (6) and seven (7) or email us at [email protected]. Thank you.?
I’m thinking about switching from straight talk AT&T sim to the tmobile one or to the actual tmobile network since straight talk in AT&T SIM card 4g”" speeds are so slow ! I have to call every 2 weeks for them to remove my data cap. Does anyone know if tmobile straight talk sim also puts a cap on the data ?? Cuz if they do I just go straight to original tmobile. Please anyone who has experienced please let me know. Thanks
Nice? video! I’m switching over to straight talk.
