this product was satisfying me for a long time yet the cases are useless because they are very non-break proof........ But without the case its quite reliable because i drop my phone (ALLOT) and it works although recently it started turning off by itself and when it's turning on you see the backlight but all you see is a blank screen. After much googling I found out this is normal.

This phone was a replacement for a Katana. the only reason I got it was that it was the only phone offered for free at the time. I have only had it about 9 months and have had to replace the battery twice now AND YOU CANT FIND THEM ANYWHERE! They are always sold out on in the sprint store and no local stores carry them. I always have crappy signal which was never an issue with the Katana. I would not have bought this phone if given a second chance.

My son has a Samsung Rant. He's had it for about a year. It began randomly turning itself off at odd moments and he doesn't notice for awhile. So bascially, it's pretty useless in terms of a communication device. I strongly recommend against buying this as it is a 'known issue' and neither Sprint nor Samsung has fixed it in the couple years since customers began reporting it. Am now looking for a more reliable phone.

This phone has been a great phone for me over the year and a half that I've had it. It's been very durable, surviving many drops (even one in the sink!). My only real complaint is that it doesn't stay on "lock" very well. I often accidentally call people from in my bag or pocket if I receive a text message from them. (when a message is received the phone comes off of lock mode). A similar problem is that I often accidentally access the internet, which is very pricey seeing as I do not have internet capabilities in my plan. Other than that, I really haven't had many problems with the phone. I really like the layout of the QWERTY keyboard for easy texting - I find it easier to use than those of similar "slider" phones.

This phone is average. I enjoyed my Katana more, mainly because it was a flip phone, and butt dialing was minimal. However, the Rant's butt dialing is almost daily, which is unfortunate for folks who don't enjoy muffled conversations through my pants. The keyboard is a nice feature, though.
